1. Service Description
Zerobadge provides annual carbon offsetting for your website. The offset is based on the calculated annual emissions associated with your site’s data usage, including the number of visitors and resource usage (e.g., the amount of data loaded from the server). The greater the resource usage, the higher the emissions, and thus the higher the cost of the offset.
When you purchase this service, Zerobadge commits to offsetting the calculated carbon emissions of your website for one (1) year by planting trees or undertaking similar environmental measures in accordance with the stated criteria. The service is an annual, one-time purchase that can be renewed at the end of the term. If you choose the subscription option through Stripe, the agreement will automatically renew each year until you cancel.
2. Prices and Payment
The price for the offset service is stated in our online store. All prices are provided in Euro (EUR) and include applicable value added tax (VAT) unless otherwise specified. Payment can be made through Stripe or by invoice (if agreed upon in advance via the form on our website).
For subscription services via Stripe, the amount will be automatically charged upon renewal until the subscription is canceled. To avoid automatic charges, cancellation must be initiated before the next renewal date.
3. Service Delivery and Certificate Badge
The offset service is fulfilled by Zerobadge implementing the planned environmental measures (e.g., tree planting) during the agreed period. After placing your order, you will receive a confirmation and relevant documentation within a reasonable timeframe.
Once your payment is complete, you will also receive access to a custom certificate in the form of a “Badge” that you can place in the footer of your website. This badge links back to your Zerobadge profile page, which verifies when your website was offset and the duration of the offset. By integrating this badge, you provide visitors with transparent proof of your website’s carbon offset status.
4. Unauthorized Use of Badge
If a website continues to display the Zerobadge badge without a valid subscription, the following applies: - After three (3) months of unauthorized display of the Zerobadge badge following subscription expiration, Zerobadge reserves the right to invoice for an entire year of service. - This invoice will cover a full year of carbon offset service at the current rates. - By displaying the Zerobadge badge on your website, you agree to these terms and accept the obligation to pay for the service if you continue using the badge without a valid subscription beyond the three-month grace period.
5. Right of Withdrawal and Cancellation
The purchase of an annual offset service is considered the purchase of a digital service that begins immediately or as otherwise agreed upon. If the service has been initiated (e.g., planning and allocation of trees) before the withdrawal period expires, the right of withdrawal ceases in accordance with applicable consumer protection laws. If you wish to exercise your right of withdrawal before the service has begun, please contact us at post@trefadder.no.
6. Complaints
If there are defects in the service, you must contact us as soon as possible for clarification. If the complaint is justified, we will take corrective action in accordance with applicable Norwegian law.
7. Cancellation of Subscription
If you have entered into a subscription via Stripe, you can cancel at any time before the next renewal date. Cancellation can be done through your account or by contacting us in writing at post@trefadder.no. Upon cancellation, the service will continue for the remainder of the paid period and then cease. You must remove the Zerobadge badge from your website when your subscription expires. Continued display of the badge without a valid subscription will be subject to the terms outlined in section 4.
8. Changes to the Terms
Zerobadge reserves the right to change these terms of purchase as needed. Updated terms will be published on zerobadge.com, and any changes will take effect upon your next purchase or renewal.
9. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These terms are governed by Norwegian law. Any disputes arising from the purchase of services from Zerobadge shall first be sought resolved amicably. If this is not successful, the matter may be brought before the ordinary courts with Haugaland District Court as the agreed legal venue.
